A Caveat
The Mach-E sistem impressed us mightily while the tes gear was mounted, but the next day we drove to an appointment 20 miles away on I-75 and suffered a number of momentary drops, all of which were attended by messages on the instrumen klaster warning of "lane centering not available" and "driver pantauan kamera fault," so we're chalking these up to a sudden glitch or two on our tes car.
(The four drops the previous day came with no warning messages.) Otherwise, the sistem basically worked well, though some braking moments in slow trafik seemed harsher than necessary given the conditions. Our sense of these systems, having only experienced them separately, is that GM's Super Cruise still holds a slight lead over all other hands-free cruise kontrol systems.
Lane-Change Assist
This fitur, added to BlueCruise 1.2 will execute a lane change, trafik permitting, when the driver signals for a lane change—either with a momentary press of the lever or by clicking the sinyal fully on (in which case it must be manually switched off). This functioned well, though GM holds the upper ground by executing lane changes autonomously when approaching a slower-moving vehicle with an empty lane to the left.
